[WARDED PRIVATE TO PANSY PARKINSON.]
Given the ceremony this evening, I do not think that it would be sensible to have our outing tonight. I know that Daphne had planned for it tonight, but if we are going to go, I would rather not have to rush our plans. Perhaps next week, we will be able to make an entire evening of it without interruption. I only very recently learned of the ceremony and I know that you did as well, so I do not think that we have any other choice. Leave it to the Ministry to ruin things.

Tell him to stop writing all you like, but what Thomas displayed in Summers' entry yesterday is precisely how so many feel about us at this point. It may seem inappropriate now, when speaking ill of some one who has just passed, but too many have done it recently for much less than a ceremony for some one they did not even like. Our uncles, fathers, brothers, grandfathers are more likely than not associated with this war in some way and as of May, they are on the losing side.

However, I would like to point out that Death Eater is no longer synonymous with purist. I am a purist and I am not a Death Eater. I still care about purism, but I am not about to hurt anyone in its name. Being a purist does not mean that one is a Death Eater and it does not mean the the person in question supports the Death Eaters. After what has happened to us recently, I can say with confidence that there is little support left for them at all. I would like to get back to my life.

I apologise that this is several days late, but I was curious as to how your case went. I trust that if you were able to receive some advice from Avery, you did better than you would have with your usual solicitor. It is my understanding that he is quite good at what he used to do. In any case, I suppose that having your house back is all that matters.

I was also wondering whether or not you think that Millicent's situation is worth pursuing any further. We had mentioned possibly helping her find a way out of the country. I am sure there is something more we can do than supervise the girls while they make care packages. Have you had any luck convincing her to turn herself in?

This is all a bit pointless, but I have been giving it some thought now that Potter is back in his throne. Do any of you think that after last weekend's ordeal and what we have been through with the trials this summer, that they will continue to watch us? Not that we have done anything wrong, but that has never kept Potter or his friends from sniffing about like mutts. With the current attitude toward those of us who are Pure-bloods, I am forced to consider the possibility that our lives will never return to anything that can be considered normal. We are even more in the minority, now. It is unsettling.

Stay away from Pansy. She has been spoken for. Even if she were not, I do not think that you would qualify as her type. I suggest you find some one else to attempt to woo. This will be an unsuccessful endeavor for you and I will be personally displeased if you continue to pursue it.

Relieved as I am that my own trial is complete and I am not in Azkaban or confined to my home any longer, knowing that other trials are ongoing and will be for some time leaves me only concerned for my peers who have done very little to deserve any harsh punishments and certainly not a stay in Azkaban. Daphne Greengrass would not have deserved to go to Azkaban. Millicent Bulstrode would not have even deserved it. I am relieved to see that thus far, the Wizengamot has not disregarded our youth. Though many of us are technically adults now, I can say from my own experience that under the correct circumstances, people will do things they do not want to do and would not do in any other situation simply to protect themselves or the ones about whom they care. That is not only true of those of us affiliated with the Inquisitorial Squad but those belonging to Dumbledore's Army and any other organisation. The difference is merely that what they did was 'good' and what we did was 'bad'. Whomever decided which was which had certainly not experienced the Death Eaters' unique brand of persuasiveness.

On another note, how wonderful it is that our Minister has finally found himself a home. It is a pity he does not seem to have gained better judgment in other areas. Revoking laws that made it more difficult for werewolves to maim innocent civilians seems not unlike something the former Ministry would have done. But Minister Shacklebolt is 'good' and the former Ministry is 'bad'. I can certainly see the difference.

I have spent over two months with little else to do than pace the hallways and stack papers for the Minister. I had to be escorted to my own friends' funerals where I was being watched and could not even express myself properly. I am beginning to feel as though I might have been better off in a proper prison than imprisoned in my own home. At least then, I would not have to watch the rest of you carry on as though nothing has changed. With any luck, in several more days and I will have my life back. Or I will be in prison, where this will not be a bother.

Either way, at least I will have a home, unlike our Minister, who has nothing but his own office and a suitcase with an Extension Charm on it. And we are supposed to expect a homeless person to rebuild the country. How laughable.

[WARDED PRIVATE TO TERRY BOOT AND PERCY WEASLEY.]
Since Boot and I know that your family is poor, we thought that with your potential experience with homelessness, you might have something to add to this conversation. The Minister has been sleeping in his office with what Boot called a 'Mary Poppins suitcase', whatever that is. Though I doubt you will actually have anything relevant to add, what should we do?

Considering the public outcry for the war to be entirely through, I am rather surprised and appalled by the fact that so many cannot see fit to let the Ministry finish handling this without subscribing to more chaos on the side. If so many expect those of us who are pure of blood to be more accepting of those who are inferior not, then why should not the same be expected of them? Store owners should be permitted to sell what they want to whom they want and Pure-bloods are entitled to owning their own businesses. For all the skepticism I feel toward our new Ministry, I am hoping this is settled immediately and that no more of these ill-spirited protests are sanctioned.

Considering it is my birthday and I am not entirely enjoying myself, I think that the both of you ought to be prepared for an impromptu celebration this evening. Perhaps we can start a fire with these subpoenas they sent us yesterday.

Theodore, please eat something before you come so we can count on you being in a good mood.

Thank you for last night. Also, thank you for what I expect will be your continued discretion in this matter.

I will be stuck here until my hand finishes regrowing, but at least it was not my wand hand and thank Merlin they are not skimping on the pain potions, because I do not want to feel what it is like to regrow a hand. I know there are DA members in your House. Please pay attention and see if news of this gets around, because whoever did it, I want to personally repay the favour.

[WARDED PRIVATE TO SELF.]
I do not want to finish out the holidays here. This is not the relaxing 'Easter' I have been hoping for since January -- in fact, yesterday was possibly one of the worst days I have ever had to suffer. I thought I had be clear of those lousy wankers since they left school, but unfortunately that is not the case.

I am casting these wards with Fenrir Greyback's wand. Greyback's bloody wand. Potter has taken mine and I am supposed to use this bloody tree branch to cast my spells for the rest of the year? I am a Malfoy. My family has done nothing but aid this process. I am tired of the rest of them looking down their noses at me. I doubt that any one of them could have fixed that cabinet under the same circumstances as mine. And yet they act as though my family has betrayed them. We are not blood traitors. Why should we be treated like Bones or Weasleys?

None of this has been to any of my liking this year. Why I should have to waste my time and energy torturing spiders that cannot even feel it and watching Longbottom and his friends throw temper tantrums in the middle of class? The Carrows do not have a clue what they are doing. They sent proper Pure-bloods into the Forbidden Forest and made the women witness brutality that no Pureblood girl should ever have to see. I do not want to do this anymore.

We are going to speak to the Headmaster in a few minutes so I hope that you aren't busy. I'm putting on my shoes and I will meet you in the Common Room if you are available to join me. I do not know how long he will be here, so we should go as soon as we can. If you do come, maybe I should do the talking to start, since I was the one who asked to see him. Is there anything else that you would like me to mention first? I suppose we can discuss it on the way, but we should have some idea of what we're going to say and how.

They took Crabbe, Theodore and Blythe into the Forbidden Forest? With the rest of those half-bloods and blood traitors? This is a whole new low, even for the Carrows. I am not impressed. Did they even have proper clothing with them? They do not call it the Forbidden Forest for nothing. This is deeply troubling.

Daphne raises an interesting point -- why should she be punished almost as though she were a Gryffindor or one of those delinquents in Dumbledore's Army? And I cannot imagine that the Dark Lord would truly approve of them terrorism young Pure-blood women I do wonder how close an eye Professor Snape keeps on the goings on here. He may be a Half-blood, but I had imagine that he has more sense than the Carrows. Even though I have never wanted his help before It is a pity that he seems to feel as though he has better things to do.

I am relieved that our holiday was moved. I am very tired of all that has been happening this year; it has all become a little too theatrical for my liking.
